One of my favorite recipes at the moment is actually the recipe that started my blog first posted by Alicia. This Soy and Ginger Glazed Salmon is so easy but often requires a couple table spoons of Fresh Ginger.
When I came home and was going to make this delcious recipe for my family, I went shopping with my Momma, and had the fresh ginger in my hand. She told me that she already had some in the house in the freezer and I was like “What is it doing there?”
She mentioned that it was an awesome way to store it especially if you are only going to micro-grate it. The ginger actually grates easier when frozen, and you are not wasting any of the ginger because it’s so fine that you don’t need to peel it and can throw it right back in the freezer once your done!
Especially cooking for one most of the time and frequently having to throw some bad ginger out, I have started using this method and have found myself using ginger more and more.
Another twist if you do have some that could go off but you really want to use, try brewing a cup of Organic Peppermint Amour tea from DavidsTea and slicing a couple of rounds of ginger into your cup. It really works well for a sore stomach and just to really get lost in a cup of tea!
