Just outside of Rotorua on the North Island of New Zealand (NZ) is this small little Thermal Village.  NZ is right on top of a fault line and therefore has heaps of Volcanic possibilities.  One is cooking in this sulfuric water that remains thermally heated between 100-200 degrees Celsius on any given day.

The big tourist attraction within this small village is to get a piece of Corn.  This nice and sweet cob had been covered with a cheesecloth and tied to a string.  Then it is lowered and submerged into the water for approximately 10-15 minutes (depending on the temp of the water that day) and then pulled out and ready to eat with just a little bit of salt and pepper!  Delicious!!!

The sulfur in the will soak into your skin, but does not affect the flavour of the cooking at all!

This corn was soft, sweet and succulent and a really good experience to see just how cool (or hot rather) volcano’s can be.
